South Africa Peace Process

The South Africa Peace Process is often known as a case of courageous leadership. And, in most cases this overshadows the role of the multi-party and self-mediated process that was highly inclusive and structured, ending apartheid and paving the way towards a democratic South Africa. The negotiations can be thought to have happened in 2 phases. The first phase, formed the basis of South Africa’s democratisation pact adopting a comprehensive package agreement. The second phase of negotiations which came after the country’s first non-racial elections drafted South Africa’s final constitution.
