Study Visit to Switzerland

Excited to begin the study visit aimed at immersing political actors participating in the Cyprus Dialogue Forum in Switzerland’s political system.

Cooperation is at the heart of the Swiss system. A deep dive today into the Swiss political system, starting with the historicity of the Swiss system from Ms. Oleschak from the Institute of Federalism. Fascinating conversations next about key characteristics of the Swiss political system with seasoned diplomat Ambassador Claudio Fischer. Also honoured to have the opportunity to be meeting to discuss with State Secretary Mr. Alexandre Fasel on the delicate and intricate balance required to maintain the system.

Looking forward to learning more about the experience of Switzerland’s journey, always with the understanding that every process and system is different, marked by its own historicity and specific political context.

The study visit is organised under the context of the Cyprus Dialogue Forum and attended by political actors from both communities. The study visit is co-funded by the European Union and the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.
